The past 3 weeks actually went by pretty fast! My NT u/s scan was yesterday afternoon. It was my first abdominal u/s this pregnancy which was a nice change. She took all of the measurements for the test and then I got to just watch it bounce around and wave at me for a little while....this is one active baby! The tech then let me know that there is only one lab in the entire US that reads the results of this scan + blood work and it's in NY so I would be waiting at least a week to ten days for results...but the u/s portion looked very good with the spinal canal being only 1.5 (anything under 3 is good). This was the result of the best part of the appointment by far!:
After the u/s I met with Dr. C who did a pap and a cervical culture. Then it was across the hall to the lab for FIVE vials of blood as well as a finger poke for the blood work portion of the NT test. So far so good! My next appt is May 6th for just a check of the heartbeat via doppler and measurements. Hopefully my anatomy u/s to also tell us the sex of the baby will be sometime end of May.
